NARCHI (National Association of Reproductive Child Health of India) was founded by Late Dr. C S Dawn, way back in 1976. It was formed as an association of post-graduate professionals, to work for better Reproductive and Maternal Child Health Services in India. In 1992, to train MBBS doctors in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, an academic wing named Dr. CS Dawn ICMCH, was also instituted.

NARCHI was affiliated to NIHFW (National Institute of Health & Family Welfare) in its PHERC programme, with Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in training Skilled Birth Attendants (SBA) and with IAMANEH (Geneva, WHO collaborating centre) in its training curriculum for MBBS Graduates in Gynaecology & Obstetrics and in Paediatrics.

Currently NARCHI has over 5000 registered members and 15 branches across India. Since inception, Dr. C S Dawn ICMCH has trained over 2500 MBBS doctors, most of whom are well entrenched in private practice or employed even in government sectors. Dr. C S Dawn ICMCH has more than 250 RCH Training Centres and more than 80 Child Health Training Centres spread across many states in India. There are over 350 accredited Fellow Guides.

Every two years NARCHI conducts a World Congress and Conference on Reproductive Child and Maternal Health issues which is attended by over 1000 delegates, both from India and abroad. These conferences are a great opportunity of continued learning.
